BSE, NSE to opened trade at 9 am from today January 4th 2010. The sensex started the first day of the year 2010 on a flat note with positive bias following good Asian cues. Auto stocks were seeing buying interest. Nifty was trading marginally higher amid volatility on the back of buying interest across all the sectors. However, Reliance Industries, Bharti, Hdfc Bank and Reliance Infrastructure were the only losers among the largecaps. On the first session of the year 2010, the Sensex closed higher and continued its uptrend for the second consecutive day. It closed above the 17,500 mark while the Nifty maintained the 5,200 level.

January, 5 Tuesday Nifty maintained its early gains and was trying to inch up towards the 5300 mark, on the back of buying interest across all the sectors. The consistent buying in shares of oil & gas exploration, metal, realty, telecom, private banking and power companies was helping the Sensex to stay on the higher side. Wednesday the Nifty has touched the 5,300 mark for the first time since February 28, 2008. It is trading at 22-month high. The benchmark indices were trading marginally higher amid choppiness and the Nifty retraced from the highest point of the day. The Sensex closed flat with a positive bias and continued its uptrend for the fourth consecutive day. Shares of oil & gas exploration, realty, pharma, cement, FMCG and banking stocks helped the indices to close higher.
